Sporting Events
Our school is part of the Eden Valley Sports Partnership and Eden Rural Alliance sports cluster which means throughout the year we take part in a range of sporting events and competitions with other schools in our local area. We strive to provide the opportunity for every child in KS1 and KS2 to represent our school in sport at least once throughout the year. We encourage our pupils to take part in a range of sporting activities including team games, swimming galas, key steps gymnastics, orienteering and cross country.

At Warcop we have a passion for running! Twice a week our teachers lead a lunchtime running club following a range of different routes around Warcop village.
On Tuesdays older children can buddy up with younger children to run a short distance and on Fridays we do a longer distance run for the older children.
We also do termly running club treats such as a hot chocolate or picnic as part of the route.
Our headteacher Mrs Linsley completes the Great North Run for Child Bereavement UK every year and encourages other staff members to join her.
We also run a half marathon within our house groups: Fir, Oak, Ash, Elm, to support this.
We are always looking to find new and exciting opportunities for children to be active. On our recent school trip to Newcastle the Y4, 5 & 6 children were able to take part in a surf school. They had a fantastic time and we heard many of the children say it was the highlight of their trip!
